Diane Takvorian holds a Master’s degree in Social Work with an emphasis on public policy and
community organizing. She has led the fight for social and environmental justice for over 40 years and is the Executive Director and co-founder of Environmental Health Coalition
(EHC), an environmental justice organization based in the San Diego/Tijuana region.
Diane has also served on international, national, state, and regional advisory boards. Senate
ProTempore Toni Atkins appointed her to the California Air Resources Board, as the first Environmental Justice representative. President Obama appointed her to the Joint
Public Advisory Committee for the Commission for Environmental Cooperation. She is also a co-founder of the California Environmental Justice Alliance.
Josephine S. Talamantez(Chicana/Yaqui) is a San Diego native and Chicano/Indigenous Civil Rights activist of 50+years. She founded the Chicano Park Museum and Cultural Center, which is world-renowned and specializes in Art, History and Science of Chicano/Mexicano/Latino and Indigenous peoples and the Border region.
She is also a Founding Member of Latinos in Heritage Conservation and an Advisor for the California Office of Historic Latino-American Theme Study.
Proud of her roots and community, she was able to bring her expertise as a member of the Barrio Logan Planning Group, Barrio Logan Association/Maintenance Assessment District, and Mayor Todd Gloria's Latinx Advisory Committee.
