A Visit To UCSD

Chavez Elementary Chavistas Do A College Tour!

Our Chavez Elementary School Chavistas and the other leadership clubs at the school all went to the UCSD campus recently to learn what a college campus is all about. You can see from these photos that they had a fantastic time but more importantly they learned a lot about what their futures could be like if they decide to go to college.

They had a lot of very good questions for our tour guides such as room and board, grades and gpa to get in, different career paths (they were especially interested in the performing arts).

Our Chavistas loved the different buildings, public art and pathways on campus such as the snake path by Alexis Smith, the Dr. Seuss statue, the Chicano Legacy 40 anos mural, the Sun God by Niki de Saint Phalle, the bear by Tim Hawkinson, and the falling star art piece by Do Ho Suh.
